A significant achievement for Gav Yam. Deep into the Corona crisis, Gav Yam reports a significant contract for renting 28,000m² at the Matam Office Park in Haifa. Calcalist learned that the company renting the space is Apple. It is a 7-year agreement in consideration of 30M NIS per year, with an option to extend. the contract also includes 620 underground parking spaces at the compound. The agreement was signed following an LOI signed between the parties in Q2 this year.

Apple will rent the first phase of the project, Matam Towers East, currently under construction. The rental period will commence after construction is completed and the first stage of the project is occupied, expected in Q3/2022.

Matam Towers East are being built by Matam. According to Gav Yam reports to the capital market, the towers include two structures above ground of ~56,000m² and underground parking of 37,000m². Apple will join other international tenants renting space in the compound.

In Q3/2020, Matam rented ~6,000m² and 120 parking spaces in the project to GE Healthcare, which will use it both for offices and a development center including labs.

Apple already rents offices from Gav Yam at Gav Yam Park Herzeliya: O2 campus on Maskit St., consisting of three divisions of 23,000m², fully rented to Apple’s development center in Israel. Just last July, Calcalist revealed “that Gav Yam is promoting a plan to expand the campus, despite Corona, by adding a 30-floor tower and over 20,000m². According to estimates, this office tower will also be intended for rental by Apple.
